Management Accountant
£314 per day UMB or £230 PAYE

We’re seeking a skilled and dedicated Management Accountant to join our clients’ dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in preparing accurate and timely financial reporting, especially around month-end, to aid in driving business decisions. The Management Accountant will supervise the Accounts Payable team and work closely with senior finance staff to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations.
Responsibilities:
• Month-End Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely month-end results, variance analysis, and commentaries.
• External Reporting: Prepare external reports, including Office of National Statistics surveys.
• VAT Returns: Prepare and submit VAT returns.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
• Accounts Payable Supervision: Control the accuracy of the accounts payable function.
• Year-End Process: Assist with the year-end process and take a lead role in financial audits.
• Intercompany Reporting: Prepare and manage intercompany reporting.
• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities across the company.
• Additional Support: Provide support to other areas within the business as needed and undertake any other ad hoc duties appropriate to the role.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Education:
• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent.
Experience:
• Experience working with non-finance professionals.
• Strong analytical skills with high competency in data analysis using Excel and other reporting tools.
• Methodical and systematic mindset.
• Accurate, efficient, and organized with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work in a high-pressured environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong numerical skills.
• Ability to maintain strong relationships with external clients and internal colleagues.
• Team player with a supportive attitude and ability to contribute to an open and productive working environment.
• Proactive and driven by a need for continual improvement.
• Strong technical ability.
Desirable:
• IFS system experience is a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge of tax is desirable.
