Role Overview:
As a Materials Manager, you will oversee the supply chain, ensuring materials are available to support business growth. This includes strategic sourcing, inventory control, and managing supplier relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage daily supply chain activities: identify material needs, negotiate prices and delivery, raise purchase orders, and confirm delivery dates.
* Develop and implement sourcing strategies to support business growth.
* Establish best practices for inventory forecasting, purchasing, and material control.
* Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals.
* Evaluate, monitor, and report on supplier performance, addressing issues as needed.
* Support inventory control during stock counts and resolve discrepancies.
Candidate Profile:
Experience: Proven supply chain/purchasing management experience in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with lean manufacturing tools and supplier development processes.
Skills: Strong people development, change management, and business software skills.
