Drainage Manager/Senior Drainage Engineer

Location Northampton

Working Hours 47.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 30-minute lunch break)

We are seeking an experienced Drainage Manager to join our busy office in Northampton. This role is ideal for a Senior Drainage Engineer looking to step up into management. The successful candidate will coordinate several drainage teams, plan jobs, ensure teams have the right equipment, and handle various administrative tasks. The role also involves reacting quickly to urgent issues, such as non-functional vehicles or emergency calls from clients.

Responsibilities

* Plan and organise both planned and reactive drainage crews.
* Ensure teams are equipped with the necessary tools and information for safe and efficient work.
* Manage internal and external blockage clearances.
* Oversee patching and lining operations.
* Conduct CCTV surveys.
* Coordinate tankering services for commercial and domestic customers.
* Handle paperwork related to job planning, equipment management, and team coordination.
* Respond promptly to urgent issues, such as vehicle breakdowns or emergency drainage problems.
* Provide cost estimates and interpret plans occasionally,


The Candidate

* Previous experience within the drainage industry is essential.
* Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
* Proficiency with IT systems.
* Full UK driving license.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a logical approach to finding solutions.
* Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
