Biomedical Engineer
Orpington Area
Purpose of the role
Provision of daily on-site medical devices repairs, preventative maintenance and asset management to contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within a specified hospital location. Build long term relationships with customers, subcontractors and staff to ensure responsiveness and superior customer service.
To be considered for this role you must have at least 3 years UK based work experience.
Task list
* Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on medical equipment as per manufacturer’s guidelines
* Support the site manager / team leader as required and in achieving contractual KPI’s
* Complete repairs as required on medical equipment as per manufacturer’s guidelines
* Complete all associated administrative work in completing repairs and preventative maintenance as outlined in procedures
* Support customers whenever needed to ensure minimal disruption to the operation of the hospital
* Complete associated admin needed to close repairs and PMs as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures
* Travel to various sites as required to perform Corrective and Preventive Maintenance
* Maintain safe working practices within the hospital environment
* Maintain spare part stock wherever necessary
* Schedule and complete workload for customers within assigned area
* Maintain service documentation in line with business requirements
* Meet with OEM service staff and management when required
* Maintain tools and test equipment in line with Standards
Capability Profile
* Certified OEM trainings - Essential
* HNC in Electrical Electronic Engineering or equivalent - Desirable
* Qualification in Engineering, electronics or medical technologies such as biomedical engineering - Desirable
Essential Skills
* Excellent Customer Relationship skills
* Excellent written and oral communication
* Good working knowledge of MS Office suite, Excel
* Superior integrity and discretion
Essential Experience
* 2 -5 Years in healthcare environment with experience on medical equipment
* Familiarity with appropriate national and local regulatory standards
* Worked in clinical environment and involving patient communication
* Familiar with a broad range of medical devices

* Death in Service Scheme after probation - 4 times salary
* Maternity - 21 weeks full enhanced maternity pay; this is inclusive of Statutory Maternity pay. Plus, after the employee has returned from Maternity Leave for 3 months, a 10% bonus will be paid, (with a commitment to work for 6 months plus)
