Grafton Banks Finance is working with a listed business in West Sussex to recruit a newly created Senior Financial Accountant role.
Our clients business model creates a complex and interesting accounting environment, including the treatment for revenue recognition and intangibles. This coupled with their FTSE listing creates the need for a robust framework for governance, risk management, compliance, and reporting. This role will be a key part of the accounting team, with a focus on technical IFRS application and judgement.
We are looking for a practice trained (ideally ACA) qualified accountant who is technically strong and has significant IFRS experience (IFRS 15 and 38 are advantageous). We are looking for someone who is inquisitive and is comfortable challenging the status quo. You could be making your first move into industry or already working in a technical or financial accounting role.
Key tasks:
* Analyse and apply IFRS accounting standards and regulatory guidelines for all areas of the group.
* Prepare and review technical accounting memos for significant issues.
* Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with IFRS standards.
* Develop and update accounting policies to ensure compliance with IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
* Advise stakeholders on complex IFRS related matters and potential impact on financial reporting.
* Coordinate with external auditors during the half-year review and annual audit processes to address IFRS related issues.
* Provide insights and update accounting policies based on evolving industry standards and best practices.
* Support with all other aspects of financial accounting, external reporting, and board governance.
This role is hybrid working with 2-3 days required in the offices per week. Salary range for the role is £70,000-80,000 depending on experience and benefits including 10% bonus, health cash plan, 25 days holiday, and share save scheme.
