Finance Assistant
Our client has been established over 50 years, they supply an extensive range of high-quality products for TV, Wi-Fi, Networking and Home Security sectors, they are based in Sheffield
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing purchase invoices and credit notes accurately and in a timely manner
* Setting up new accounts
* Reconciling supplier statements and dealing with supplier queries
* Sales invoicing
* Credit control for all customers
* Supplier payments - credit card/BACS/IT
* Payments - Allocate cash to sales accounts
* Ensuring all invoices are authorised in line with company procedures
* Assisting with month-end reporting and providing support to the finance team
* Participating in process improvement initiatives to streamline purchase ledger activities
* Collating time sheets for monthly payroll preparation
* General administration support if/when required
Skills Required:
* Great numeracy skills
* Business acumen and interest
* Organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines
* Analytical ability
* Previous experience in purchase ledger/Sales Ledger / account’s payable role
* Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
* Strong communication skills
* Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel. Our client uses Merlin which is an ERP System
Working hours
Hours: 3 days a week (Flexible on days)
22.5 hours over the week (Flexible) working within the hours of 8am - 4pm.
The opportunity to work on a hybrid basis
Salary range: £25,000 - £27,000 pro rata DOE
