Job title:             Quality Technician (Metrology)
Salary Range:    £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Hours:                 Day Shifts Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
Location:            Stourbridge, West Midlands
Permanent role working for a leading manufacturing business in Stourbridge, West Midlands.
An experienced Quality Technician is required for a new role working for a well-established manufacturing business in Stourbridge.
Due to the nature of this business, we are looking for someone who has previous experience within Metrology, and preferably someone who has worked within a foundry environment.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience using CMMs, optical and dimensional measuring equipment and metrology equipment.
Working within a busy manufacturing environment you will be responsible for conducting dimensional metrology tests, ensuring all castings are inspected to the correct specifications, approving or rejecting both raw and machined castings, working from Engineering Drawings and using various measuring equipment including gauges, callipers and micrometers.
This would be a great opportunity for someone with quality inspection and metrology experience who is looking for a long-term role within a stable manufacturer within Stourbridge.
This client based in Stourbridge, requires an experienced Quality Technician on a permanent basis.
As a Quality Technician you will be required to:
* Conduct dimensional metrology tests
* Ensure all castings are inspected to the correct specifications
* Approve or reject both raw and machined castings
* Work from Engineering Drawings and using various measuring equipment including gauges, callipers and micrometers.
* Provide feedback on product quality issues to the manufacturing team.
* Ensure that products meet the required customer specifications.
* Keep an accurate record of data and correspondence ahead of daily meetings with the management team.
The Quality Technician should have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
Essential:
* Previous experience within a similar role
* Previous Metrology experience
* Experience using CMMs and metrology equipment
* Experience with using various measuring equipment
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
