Job Description:
* Personal and corporate tax planning
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Tax Accountant to join our clients practice team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, compliance, and planning. This role is critical in ensuring the company’s tax obligations are met accurately and timely, while also identifying opportunities for tax savings and efficiencies.
  
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
* Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for the company and its subsidiaries.
* Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and laws.
* Maintain and organize tax records and documentation for audits.
* Review and reconcile tax accounts on the general ledger.
Tax Planning and Strategy:
* Assist in developing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
* Stay updated on current tax laws and changes, and assess their impact on the company.
* Provide recommendations on tax-efficient structures and practices.
Audit and Examination:
* Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
* Prepare documentation and analysis to support tax positions during audits.
Reporting and Analysis:
* Prepare quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and related disclosures.
* Analyze and interpret tax data, providing reports and insights to management.
Collaboration and Advisory:
* Work closely with finance, legal, and operations teams to provide tax advice and support.
* Advise on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
Continuous Improvement:
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of tax functions.
* Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
* Qualifications:
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
* CTA or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting, preferably in a corporate or public accounting setting.
* Strong knowledge of local tax laws and regulations.
Skills and Competencies:
* Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
Applicants should have at least two years’ practical experience of Personal Tax returns with a sound knowledge of compliance work. Ideally CTA part-qualified or looking to study for the CTA exams. The applicant must have good communication skills, a strong academic track record and good IT skills.
