Job Description:
Principal Analytical Chemist
Certain Advantage are currently partnered with a global chemical manufacturer to recruit for a Principal Analytical Chemist for their site in the West Midlands.
* Run routine and non-routine chromatography methods and develop and fully document new methods when required.
* Lead analytical support for both NDB full-scale remote toll manufacturing and local pilot plant.
* Develop and fully document new methods where necessary.
* Use software systems related to chromatography (Empower, ChemStation, LIMS).
* Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting/repair of instruments and equipment, occasionally fixing instruments if needed urgently.
* Use MS Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint).
* Use analytical data repository and workflow systems (LIMS, SFDC).
The client requires an expert in quantitative method development and experience with a range of chromatography software.
Education and Experience
* PhD in Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry preferred).
* 10 + years’ experience working as an analytical scientist in a materials or related industry.
* Proven expertise obtained working at a senior level in chromatography (HPLC, UHPLC, GPC, GC,…) hyphenated with all detector types including mass spectrometry.
* Working knowledge of other analytical techniques including spectroscopy and wet chemistry
