Rural Ranges are a small but growing family business located in Bridport, West Dorset. They specialise in the sale and installation of high quality reconditioned Aga’s and new range cookers, and they provide Aga refurbishment services, fuel conversions and the servicing and maintenance of Agas, Rayburns and other cast iron stoves. They also service and repair boilers and conventional domestic cookers.
Their main servicing client base is located across Dorset, Devon, Somerset and Hampshire, whilst for installations and conversions they travel throughout the South of England and beyond. They have a growing client base in the USA, travelling several times annually to undertake Aga installations, conversions and servicing.

Opportunity:
As Rural Ranges grow, so does the need to expand the Servicing Team. They are currently in need of a Trainee Oil & Gas Engineer. This is a trainee role, with excellent opportunities for progression for the right candidate.
The first 6 months of employment will focus on oil service and maintenance. Once the Oftec qualification is achieved, you will move onto the Gas element of the role for Gas Safety training, while training on electric and solid fuel Aga servicing and maintenance. The successful candidate does not need to have previous Aga/Rayburn experience as full training will be provided.
Although the majority of the role and training will be targeted at oil and gas servicing and maintenance, the engineer will also be expected to gain and understanding in all areas of the business and take part in the refurbishment, electric conversion and installation of Agas. The majority of time will be spent on site in client’s homes. While most of our servicing work is in Dorset, Devon, Somerset and surrounding counties, there will be an element of travel throughout the South of England and beyond, including occasional overnight stays.
* Training in the servicing and maintenance of oil, gas, electric and solid fuel Agas, Rayburns and cast iron cookers. Once qualification and competence has been achieved, the successful candidate will progress to undertaking this work as a qualified engineer.
* Repair and maintenance of conventional cookers
* Installation of conventional range cookers
* Dismantling / installation of Agas on site
* Conversion of Aga and Rayburn cookers to Electric on site
* Maintaining records and documentation

A good team player, you will work closely with your colleagues in a small team, everyone has a key role to play. A tidy, professional appearance is a requirement. * The successful candidate will be of a practical mindset (a trade or mechanical background would be advantageous).
* The selected applicant will be a self motivated and diligent worker with exceptional attention to detail.
* Able to work as part of a small team.
* Good people skills, a polite manner - honesty & integrity are essential!
* The successful candidate will need a FULL UK Driving License.
