Building Safety Inspector
Location: Greater London
Hours: Monday - Friday 9-5:30pm
Type: Hybrid working
Our client is seeking a dedicated Building Safety Inspector to join their team. The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for carrying out quarterly inspections of common part fire doors and annual inspections of flat front doors to ensure they are compliant with relevant legislation. The job holder will also provide assistance to the property managers by carrying out general building and estate inspections where required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct quarterly inspections of all common part fire doors across various sites
* Perform annual inspections of flat front doors to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations
* Identify and report any defects, wear and tear, or non-compliance issues utilising dedicated software
* Maintain detailed records of all inspections, including dates, findings and actions taken
* Stay up to date with the latest fire safety regulations and standards
* Participate in fire safety audits and reviews as required
* Communicate effectively with building managers, residents, and other stakeholders regarding fire safety issues and inspection schedules
* Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge related to fire safety and door inspections
* Conduct general site inspections, as needed, to support the company in upholding their obligations to clients under their management agreements
Qualifications and Experience:
* Experience as a Fire Door Inspector or a similar role in fire safety is desirable
* Strong understanding of fire door components, installation, and maintenance requirements
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify potential safety hazards
* Good communication and reporting skills
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection schedules
* Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to various sites as required
