Job Description:
Director: Group Financial Control (Insurance)
London Hybrid - 3 days
£160K pro-rata (6 months)

We have been exclusively retained by a rapidly growing, well-respected UK based insurer who are looking for interim support. As a Director Financial Control, you will be responsible for group consolidation, year-end audit support, support internal team merger and overall financial reporting responsibility.

Applicants should have a strong technical background and experience working within the insurance sector and working in a fast-paced growing business and be available at short notice

Responsibilities:
* Production of group financial statements, strategic report, subsidiary statutory accounts
* Financial and regulatory reporting to support the CFO
* Management of year end statutory accounts process and ensuring the group is compliant with all relevant accounting technical pronouncements and standards
* Ensure appropriate financial controls and process are in place throughout the Group
* Analyse and comment on financial performance of various group entities on a regular basis as well as identifying and reporting on risk and uncertainties
* Preparation and review of internal technical accounting memos and discussion papers for the CFO
* Collaborate with the wider finance function and business functions to perform process and control improvements
* Manage the company’s audit process end to end as well as ensuring the interim and year end audit processes are conducted efficiently and in accordance to tight deadlines
* Oversee the preparation of insurance returns and tax computations
* Improvement and automation of claims payment process
* Support the long-term strategic vision of the Reporting and Controllership team including people, processes and finance tech stack to support a scaling business.
* Work closely with rest of Finance team and the business to deliver process improvements projects and new process and control workflows
* Full ownership of the reinsurance calculations and co-insurance accounting
* Lead accounting team of 5 people

Education and skills:
* ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent)
* Extensive experience working within the Insurance sector preferred
* Experienced working with a complex group function
* IFRS and UK GAAP
* Up to date knowledge of relevant insurance/financial service specific regulations
* NetSuite would be highly advantageous
