We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Customs Clearance Specialist to join our clients dynamic team and ensure the smooth and efficient processing of customs documents. The client, based in near Felixstowe, have a great local reputation and have been growing in the last few years rapidly. We are looking to speak to any candidates who have 6 months customs clearance experience or more.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee the customs clearance process for import and export shipments.
* Prepare and process import/export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including tariff classifications, duty rates, and any applicable restrictions or permits.
* Coordinate with freight forwarders, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely clearance and delivery of shipments.
* Resolve customs-related issues and delays, communicating effectively with customs authorities and clients.
* Maintain accurate records of all transactions, inspections, and relevant documentation.
* Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and ensure the company’s processes remain compliant.
* Provide guidance and support to clients on customs requirements and procedures.
* Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 6 months experience in customs clearance.
* Knowledge of customs regulations, tariffs, and international trade laws.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in customs clearance software and Microsoft Office Suite
