Job Description:
Job title: Business Development Manager (Insurance Underwriting)
Salary: to £55,000
Location: Home based, Scotland
Purpose of the role:
*Develop relationships with new and existing brokers.
*Undertake reviews to identify areas for improvement and agree actions to optimise profitability.
*Offer advice on various classes of commercial insurance risks including property, liabilities, motor, etc.
*Plan, forecast and targets to achieve the strategic business plan.
*Liase closely with management and company underwriters.
*Identify new business and sales opportunities.
*Attend network events.
*Seeking broker and market feedback.
Experience:
*Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a commercial insurance sales environment.
*Strong relationships within Scottish broker sector.
*Technical underwriting knowledge - SME/mid size risks - commercial property, EL, PL, motor, business interruption, etc.
*Proven track record of working to sales targets.
*Understand general and legal principles of insurance.
*Full UK driving licence.
*Understand the relevant regulatory and legal frameworks.
*Customer focused approach.
*Good communication and interpersonal skills.
*Able to work independently and use initiative.
*Able to work flexibly to achieve tight deadlines/targets with good organisation skills.
*Computer literate.
*Acturis experience would be beneficial.
*CII qualifications would be advantageous.
*The ability to manage own diary and workload whilst working to tight deadlines with accuracy.
