Job Description:
Our client is a leading construction company based in Ingatestone, Essex. They are committed to delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including residential and commercial. As they continue to grow, they are seeking a motivated Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting in Cost Management:
* Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in preparing and maintaining project budgets.
* Assist in cost estimation, cost planning, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
* Conduct cost analysis for project work, ensuring value for money is achieved.

* Tendering and Procurement:
* Assist in the preparation of tender documents, contracts, budgets, and bills of quantities.
* Help evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing.

* Contract Administration:
* Assist in the management and administration of construction contracts.
* Prepare and process interim and final payments for contractors and subcontractors.

* Site Visits and Inspections:
* Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure work is progressing as per contract specifications.
* Assist in measuring and valuing the work done on-site.

* Communication and Collaboration:
* Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
* Assist in preparing regular reports and updates for management and clients.

Qualifications and Skills:
* A degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Some experience in a similar role or relevant internship experience is preferred.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
* Good understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to learn and develop within the role.
