Reports to: Associate or Principal Engineer
Responsibilities
* Technical and Commercial Execution: Manage the technical and commercial aspects of project work, ensuring successful completion.
* Mentorship: Provide guidance and delegate tasks to junior engineers and technicians, helping to develop their skills.
* Complex Analysis and Design: Undertake complex engineering analysis and design calculations.
* Quality Assurance: Check the work of other engineers and technicians to maintain high standards.
* Business Management: Implement business management systems and assist in preparing fee bids.
* Project Management: Oversee projects, including invoicing and resource management.
* Staff Development: Assist in the training, appraisal, and management of technical staff.
* Client Interaction: Develop strong relationships with clients and provide advice on complex engineering matters during meetings and inspections.
Requirements
* Experience: Experience in a consulting environment is highly desirable and UK Residential sector
* Education: Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
* Professional Membership: Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, Member of IStructE, ICE, or another relevant institution.
* Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and commercially aware. Proven ability in engineering design and reporting.
