Hays are delighted to be working exclusively with a multi-accredited main contractor based in Derby working on a range of power and industrial schemes valued up to £6m, predominantly in the Midlands region. This organisation has a strong pipeline of work and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Due to continued success, they are looking to onboard a Site Engineer to join their team.
Your new role
As Site Engineer you will be responsible for, but not limited to, offering technical advice for subcontractors and operatives, managing and interpreting contract design documents, ensuring plans and drawings are accurate, overseeing the selection and requisition of materials as well as setting out, levelling and surveying sites. You will be expected to commute and lodge at sites further afield.
What you’ll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will hold a degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering (or experience equivalent) and ideally have at least 5 years’ experience setting out groundworks, drainage and/or RC works. In addition, you will hold a CSCS card, full UK driving licence and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Finally, you will have excellent attention to detail and be able to communicate effectively with a range of other stakeholders including clients, construction managers and other engineers.
