SF Group are excited to be working with a business based in Cheltenham on their search for a Project Accountant. This is a key role within the finance team to help to drive forward project financial performance and ensure projects are completed within agreeed budgets. You will ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and forecasting and work across multiple projects. 

The successful candidate will have prior experience within a project based environment and requires someone who is commercially aware, has a clear understanding of project accounting, in particular revenue recognition as well as have the confidence to speak to stakeholders at all levels. 
Role:

- Develop and maintain project budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor and report on project financial performance.
- Prepare and present financial reports to project managers and senior management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with project teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Conduct cost analysis and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Manage project invoicing and cash flow.
- Assist in the preparation of financial audits and year-end accounts.
- Provide support during project bids and tender processes.

The Successful Applicant:

- Part / Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Proven experience in project accounting.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
