Job Description:
SRM are working with a North West London based business who are looking for an ACA newly qualified Financial Accountant who is looking to make there first move to industry or perhaps 2nd move in their career, within a small and friendly finance team.
You will be supporting the CFO and senior leadership by taking on the responsibility for maintaining the financial records and ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Reporting
* Own the month end process including fixed asset capitalisation and depreciation, HP and lease accounting, interest calculations, accruals and prepayments, stock and other provisions
* Timely preparation of monthly Group and Divisional management accounts including insightful commentary
* Support the Sales team with customer queries including Invitation To Tender, Request for Price, and other ad-hoc requests
Financial Control
* Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations completed within agreed timeframe, including Fixed assets, Debtors including Intercompany, Creditors including Debtor Finance and Provisions (FX forward contracts)
* Ownership and development of the monthly Lead Schedule pack
* Manage customer rebate provisions and sales team commissions
* Support the Accounts Manager to drive continuous improvement within other financial controls including Banking controls, Purchase Order and other approval workflows and delegated authority matrices
Regulatory Reporting
* Own the process for year-end statutory accounts, acting as a key contact with external advisors, banks and auditors.
* Maintain the audit information dataroom
* Manage external reporting and compliance for US and European entities working with the external accountants and auditors
* Complete National Statistics reporting
* Support other external reporting as required - e.g. ISO audit requirements from the Technical department
Taxation
* Support the Accounts Manager with UK and European VAT processing and reconciliation
* Own the relationship with the external taxation team ensuring timely submission of Corporation Tax, R&D and other tax returns
* Pursue direct tax planning opportunities with the external tax team
* Develop expertise in other taxes such as Plastic Packing tax and customs duties as required
