Zachary Daniels Recruitment is delighted to exclusively supporting this leading, employee-owned wholesaler in the appointment of a new Category Manager to bring into their well-established trading team.
Working as part of a team you will develop, implement, and review a category plan that leverages the company’s scale and efficiency with suppliers to maximise sales, reduce cost of goods, optimise terms and improve profitability, whilst maintaining security of supply.
Reporting to the Head of Trading some of your key duties will include:
· Successfully negotiate product pricing, promotional discounts and trading terms to deliver the best commercial deal for our client.
· Closely manage and monitor your range, stock holding, sales, and front margin profit, back margin terms income and promotional programmes to exceed pre-agreed targets.
· Maintain maximum availability across your category
· To constantly review, track and analyse the market to capture trends, competitor activities and identify new sales opportunities
· Monitoring and controlling product pricing policies both at wholesale and retail level
· Create a market-leading promotional programme for your category
To be considered for this role you must display the following:
· Minimum of 5 years experience working within a food and/or drink led wholesale, retail or manufacturing business.
· Demonstrate previous success in managing your own food/drink category
· Have excellent negotiation and communication skills
· Take ownership and ensure your endeavours align with our company goals and values
