Job Description:
The Finance Manager will sit within the Financial Control team. It’s a broad role which will encompass BAU and Process improvement work to help strengthen the control environment and ensure continuous process improvements across all Financial Control processes
Key Accountabilities:
Management of the month end reporting for Financial Control ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, adhering to a robust control.
Perform variance analysis to understand trends/investigate variances and have full responsibility of fixed asset register, lease accounting, intercompany accounting and Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) accounting.
* Processing of accounting journals, ensuring all transactions are posted into the accounting system with speed and accuracy, paying particular attention to ensuring sufficient supporting evidence is maintained.
* Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts ensuring excellent quality substantiation is used and issues are flagged and resolved in a timely manner.
* Managing the unreconciled differences, helping to resolve these in a timely manner.
* Adhere to the company’s control environment policies, assisting with the preparation of the monthly CFO pack and other risk assessment reviews..
* Support and own aspects of the annual Statutory Audit and interim Audit process
* Review current processes across Financial Control to identify potential improvements and automation opportunities.
* Assist our finance project and controls team to drive the change agenda across all of finance
Essentials:
* Qualified Accountant with minimum 3 years PQE preferably within the mortgage or securitisation industry.
* Process improvement experience.
* Strong analytical skills , "can do" attitude and keen to add value.
* Strong Financial Control experience such as month end reporting and reconciliations.
