Equifind are representing a West End based, leading Venture Capital firm who are looking to hire an Assistant Accountant.
Long term, they see this as the ideal training ground for somebody who would like to continue studying towards their ACCA/CIMA/ACA exams; and ultimately become a qualified accountant for the business. Reporting into the Head of Finance, this role will be supporting the Fund Accountants in key fund accounting and operation processes.

The Role:
The key responsibilities for this permanent Assistant Accountant role for a West End based, Venture Capital firm will be:
* Depository liaison: address transactional queries and provide supporting documentation compiled from both the Finance and Legal team.
* Assist with fund operations including: capital calls, distributions and transfers.
* Assist with the accounts payable process, from coordinating internal sign-off to preparing wires for investment, expenses and distributions.
* Support on stake-holder queries including those from: investors, fund administrators and external auditors, with respect of fund activity.
* Support on investor related activities: updating FrontInvest, for investor details and updating investor portal access.
* Fund Accounting across US and Luxembourg GAAP.
* Support with the year-end audit and quarterly reporting.
* Assist with cash reconciliations, monthly and quarterly closes on FrontInvest.
* Assist with quarter-end bookkeeping: posting intercompany and accruals journals.
* Support with annual Luxembourg tax compliance (VAT, tax return) project work.
* Support with annual US tax compliance (K-1, PFIC / CFC and BEA) project work.
* Support with annual FATCA / CRS regulatory compliance project work.

To be considered for the role of permanent Assistant Accountant role with a West End based, leading Venture Capital firm, candidates should ideally be:

* Flexible.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
* Used to working to tight deadlines.
* Ideally a part-qualified accountant or has actively and successful completed accounting exams post education exemptions.
* Have an ambition or real desire to pursue the CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification.
Compensation:
The permanent Assistant Accountant role with a West End based, Venture Capital firm will be paid a competitive market based salary with full study support (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
* Hybrid working pattern. 3-days per week in the office. 2-days WFH, remotely.
