Salary: £38,000

Purpose of role:

This Edinburgh based insurance broker with a reputation for delivering bespoke insurance programmes to clients, both large and small is looking for a commercial insurance broker to join their team of technical insurance broking professionals.

Key responsibilities: 
* Keeping the customer at the centre of the commercial insurance broking process.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships.
* Understanding the insurance needs of customers and putting into effect the right level of protection to meet those needs.
* Growing new and existing client and insurer relationships.
* Work closely with Board and Account Executives to provide advice.
* Act as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance.
* Work within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines.
* Handling new and existing commercial insurance risks.
* Dealing with quotations, renewals, MTA’s, policy issue, etc.
* Assist in driving a high performing culture.
* Understanding a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, and key challenges.
* Managing senior relationships and negotiate complex placements with the insurance market.
Experience: 
* Experience within the commercial insurance broking marketplace.
* Knowledge of most cross classes of commercial insurance risk.
* Ability to identify appropriate placing markets.
* Experience of pricing and designing programmes.
* Grow new and existing client and insurer relationships.
* Work closely with Board and Account Executives to provide advice.
* Preferably CII qualified or working towards the CII qualification.
* A good knowledge of the insurance market in order to address client and technical issues.
* Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent technical skills.
* Good presentation abilities.
* Act as a mentor and reference point for technical assistance.
* Work within agreed compliance and regulation guidelines.
* Assist in driving a high performing culture.
* Ability to understand a client or prospect’s business, situations, opportunities, and key challenges.
* Ability to manage senior relationships and negotiate complex placements with the insurance market.
