Job Opportunity: HGV Mechanic
Salary: £20ph (£41,600 per annum)
Location: Wolverhampton
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Overtime: Available on Saturdays at double time
Responsible To: Fleet Maintenance Director
About the Role
SPR is currently recruiting for experienced HGV Mechanics on behalf of our client based in Wolverhampton. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic team, offering competitive pay and the chance for additional earnings through overtime.
Key Responsibilities
* Routine Maintenance: * Perform essential maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
* Diagnostics and Repairs: * Use advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and repair vehicle issues.
* Vehicle Inspections: * Conduct thorough inspections to detect potential problems and ensure vehicle safety.
* Quality and Safety Standards: * Ensure all work complies with quality and safety standards, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Record Keeping: * Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
* Service and Repairs: * Complete vehicle service and repairs to a high standard, preparing vehicles for annual MOT inspections.
* Breakdown Assistance: * Attend to vehicle breakdowns as required, providing prompt and efficient solutions.
* Safety Inspections: * Carry out 6-weekly safety inspections to ensure maximum vehicle availability.
* General Workshop Duties: * Maintain a clean and organised workshop, upholding excellent garage housekeeping standards.
Key Competencies
* Experience: * Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic, with expertise in handling HGV vehicles.
* Technical Proficiency: * Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
* Attention to Detail: * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Team Player: * Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
