Job Description:
Draughtsman - Earith - 30-35k
Role: Draughtsman
ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Draughtsman to step into a great opportunity for a leading client of ours in Earith.
Job Purpose:
* From hand sketches or briefs, create 3 dimensional models and prepare detailed technical drawings suitable for manufacture, using CAD software and computer visuals as required.
* Add our clients level of value to the Customer brief when the opportunity exists to do so.
* Provide project management support, if required, to achieve customer requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities:
* To design and shape products for a variety of applications.
* To produce design specifications and technical drawings including parts lists.
* Design, model, and produce prototypes of new products, or make improvements to existing products.
* Interact with customers and perform in a professional manner and present a professional image.
* Recommend modifications following prototype test results.
* Look to improve or modify cost effective designs to current specifications.
* Ensure that all administration (internal/external) is complete in full and on time.
* Maximise efficiency via good time management.
Required Knowledge:
* A full understanding of Solid Works and similar packages.
* Understanding of materials and production processes.
* An understanding of our client’s manufacturing capabilities.
* Maintain up to date knowledge of appropriate systems and procedures.
Required Competencies / Skills:
* Design skills and ability to use appropriate software.
* Good communication skills.
* Good personal presentation and ability to build good internal relationships.
* Ability to listen and respond appropriately.
* Open to new ideas and alternative points of view.
* 100% accuracy.
* Computer literacy
* Organisational and time management skills.
* Problem-solving skills.
* A creative approach for generating new ideas.
* An understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
* Knowledge of materials and properties.
* Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
