Cedar is recruiting an experienced Financial Accountant on behalf of an NHS Trust in the Midlands. The post holder will support the Head of Financial Accounting with systems, processes & controls and ensure the smooth running and effective delivery of the accounting function.
Rate: £44,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

Responsibilities
* Leverage specialist technical accounting knowledge to delegate tasks within the team.
* Ensure that reports are produced in a timely manner.
* Oversee swift submissions of monthly / year-end returns and statutory accounts.
* Lead members of staff within the Financial Accounting team and conduct line management activities, such as training, appraisals and development.
* Drive financial governance and robust financial controls in line with the Financial Framework Improvement Plan.
* Assist the team with audit report responses and the production of monthly finance accounting against deadlines.
* Liaise with internal / external stakeholders and auditors.
* Oversee monthly reconciliation of all control accounts and promptly communicate issues.
* Keep on top of local financial systems and procedures and update accordingly to maximise efficiency.
* Monitor the production of weekly and annual cash flow forecasts, assist with the cash flow plan and reconcile the cash flow management process.
Requirements
* CCAB qualified.
* Previous NHS experience is essential
* Expert knowledge of cash management and Capital Accounting.
* Ability to produce accurate reports and interpret complex financial information.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulae, pivot tablets, look up tables etc.)
