Job Role * Work within the inpatient area and a busy Outpatient Dressings Clinic.
* Develop wound care skills and deliver an excellent nurse-led service.
* Care for pre-op patients, post-op patients, and dressing clinic patients.
* Prepare and care for children undergoing plastic or maxillofacial surgery.
* Support children with burns injuries in the outpatient dressing clinic.
* Support parents whose children are undergoing surgery.
Skills * Registered Nurse (Children)
* Experience caring for paediatric surgical patients
* Computer literate
* Ability to plan and prioritize care for patients
* Committed to family-centered care
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Good time management and teaching skills
* Ability to work well both in a team and on own initiative
* Ability to delegate tasks as appropriate
* Demonstrates compassion in practice
Essential * Experience with acute/chronically sick children or specialized transferable skills
* Understanding of professional and current issues in children’s nursing
* Understanding of the importance of research and evidence-based practice
* Basic computer skills
* Understanding of safeguarding issues per Trust policies and procedures
* Understanding or evidence of fulfilling requirements for Revalidation
* Understanding of clinical governance principles (e.g., risk management, audit, quality)
* Experience working as part of a diverse team
* Experience contributing to an inclusive workplace culture
