Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Staafordshire, is currently looking to recruit an Environmental Protection Officer/Technical Assistant for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £40-£45 (Umbrella) per hour – working 37 hours per week. This role will be hybrid working with at least 2 days per week in the office. 

Responsibilities:

- Support contaminated land, air quality, private water supplies, and regulation of industrial processes. 
- Investigate statutory nuisance complaints and pollution-related anti-social behaviour. 
- Advise planning and licensing teams. 
- Conduct inspections, investigate complaints, and take appropriate actions. 
- Prepare reports and participate in meetings. 
- May carry out other duties as and when required. 

Essential Skills:

- Experience in a similar role. 
- Understanding of contaminated land, air quality, private water supply and pollution control. 
- Strong time management and ability to manage varied workload. 
- Relevant degree in Environmental Health or related field preferred
