Job Description:
Our client is a Charge Point Operator (CPO) with a strong belief that sustainable transport should be accessible to everyone. They’re on a mission to create the UK’s most reliable electric vehicle charging network that doesn’t cost the earth and leaves no one behind.

They work closely with local authorities and businesses to deliver reliable, high quality charging networks at pace, at scale and at zero cost. Reporting to the Head of Business Development (Public), you will be responsible for enabling the business to target and close new Local Authorities (LA) in order to meet ambitious growth targets. Key Responsibilities will include:
* Proactive business development to identify key opportunities
* Developing a portfolio of prospective LA customers, including identifying the right stakeholders to target
* Working with a consultative approach to ensure that you identify what our customers’ needs are, what the appropriate solution is and how best it can be delivered
* Educating and supporting LAs, creating brand advocacy by presenting compelling propositions to ensure they move through the sales funnel with the right information delivered to the right stakeholders at the right time
* Conducting pitches regarding services to various stakeholders
* Undertaking commercial modelling, presenting proposals and negotiating customer income proposals to achieve value for all parties
* Negotiating and closing deals utilising agreed contract templates or customer provided contracts; working alongside the Contracts Manager to negotiate these with the customer to the highest standards
* Supporting the Bid team by providing strategic insight and direction for your customer’s tenders and commercial bids. You may also be required to draft content during periods of high tender demand
* Conducting initial desktop evaluations of site suitability, to include demand assessment, visibility, accessibility and development feasibility before handing off to our Operations team for full technical design.

Key Requirements
* Proven experience as a senior business development professional
* Previous experience in contract negotiation
* Ability to operate in ambiguous situations; remaining focused and resolute to see projects to conclusion
* Proactive, target driven and able to perform well under pressure
* A good understanding of both local authority procurement processes, and their stakeholder structures and role-based drivers
* Excellent project management skills
* Knowledge of the electric vehicle charging industry value chain is preferred
* Experience of HubSpot CRM would be beneficial.
