We are recruiting for a firm of accountants based in Bedfordshire, who are seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing firm and team. The salary is negotiable and will of course depend on experience and qualification level, so is open within reason. 
Responsibilities:
* Preparation of VAT Returns
* Bookkeeping and assistance with Accounts Preparation
* Assisting with audits on occasion both in and out of the office
* Continuing to develop and nurture strong working relationships with colleagues and clients alike
* Answering calls and dealing with basic client queries about personal and business accounting and routine tax matters and escalating where appropriate
* Keeping clients aware of services we can provide
* Administration and other ad hoc tasks as required
* Being able to work to reasonable budgets, and maintaining good communication with all team members
Requirements:
* Previous exposure to all or some of the following accounting packages SAGE, QuickBooks and Xero
* Good basic Microsoft Office skills in particular word and excel.
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Full driving licence and car
* Ability to work on your own initiative
