We’re seeking an experienced Design Engineer to take charge of creating innovative design solutions for our Industrial / Manufacturing department. The successful candidate will have a background in manufacturing design 3D/2D and a keen eye for detail.

Description
Key Responsibilities:
· Create comprehensive 3D CAD models of machines with accurate BOMs
· Produce 2D engineering drawings for machined components, sheet metal parts, and assemblies
· Perform rudimentary design calculations
· Write concise instruction manuals covering the installation, operation, and maintenance of the machines
· Select appropriate 3rd party components, such as sensors, gear drives, and pumps
· Work with Sales to produce layout drawings for new prospects
· Develop new machine designs and improve existing designs
· Ensure standardisation of components across the range
· Work with the manufacturing team to rapidly resolve technical issues
Profile
A successful Design Engineer should have:
· Degree or equivalent relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or similar
· 3D CAD modelling using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar
· Reading and producing engineering drawings
· Computer literate, with proficiency in common MS Office programs
· Advantageous if you have knowledge of turning, milling, sheet metal forming, and welding
· Self-motivated, focused, with a flexible approach to work
· Able to manage own time effectively
· High attention to detail
· Excellent verbal and written communication
