Team/Role Overview

The Operational Risk Management (ORM) Team in Belfast is seeking to hire an Operational Risk Vice President to support its growing footprint.
You will require experience in risk management practices, strong analytical skills, excellent communication (both written & verbal), and ability to work both independently and as part of a team to be successful in this position.

What you’ll do
* Oversee the application of operational risk policies, technology and tools, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
* Independently assess risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
* Serve as a subject matter expert for Issues Management and to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
* Resolve transactional level escalations coming from the vendor or internal partners.
* Analyze a multitude of scorecards/performance management tools in an attempt to mitigate exposure (risk/financial/regulatory).
* Monitor goals are met through performance, risk and relationship oversight of our extended supply chain.
* Collaborate to resolve any issues which fall within the terms of the contract.
* Develop and maintain relationships across the business users and Lines of Defense to better understand and deliver customer requirements by responding to changes in the internal and external business environment
* Operate with a limited level of direct supervision and e xercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
What we’ll need from you
* Experience working in either Risk Management, Compliance, Audit or similar risk and control functions at a financial institution.
* Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required.
* Knowledge of Wealth Management and or Retail Banking Operations preferred.
* Business writing experience preferred.
* Bachelor’s/University degree and Master’s degree preferred.
