Contract:Full time, permanent
Hours:35 hours per week
Location:Based at our offices in London (NW1) or Leeds (LS2) or at home if you live outside London. London-based staff can work at home some of the time by agreement.

BYM is seeking a proactive and skilled Finance Manager to oversee the finances of BYM, Friends Trust Limited (FTL) and Quiet Company (QC). In this key role within the Finance Team you will ensure our financial operations are efficient, reporting is accurate and systems are robust. If you have a strong background in financial reporting, group financial operations and team management, this role is perfect for you.
As Finance Manager you will manage the day-to-day financial operations for BYM, FTL and QC. Your duties will include producing monthly management accounts, drafting annual accounts, managing income and payments processing, and ensuring accurate transaction recording. You will also oversee credit control, manage cash flow and treasury functions and maintain the fixed assets register. Additionally, you will support with payroll, pensions and VAT processing. You will line manage other team members, providing coaching and support to Finance Assistants to achieve and maintain high standards.
The ideal candidate will have up-to-date knowledge of UK Generally Accepted Accounting Practice and charity SORP, experience in year-end audits, and proven abilities in managing financial processes. You should be proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and have experience with financial management systems like Business Central. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. Experience in the charity sector and a commitment to Quaker values will be an advantage.
