Part-Time Cook Wanted for Residential Care Home in Epping Location: Epping, Essex
Position: Part-Time Cook
Hours: 2 to 4 days per week / 7.30am to 2pm (flexible schedule, including alternate weekends)
Are you passionate about cooking and looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Cook to join our experienced kitchen team. Our Cooks play a key role in ensuring that mealtimes are a highlight of our residents’ day by preparing and serving nutritious home-cooked meals, whilst also maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals for our residents, taking into account their dietary needs and preferences.
* Plan menus in collaboration with the care home management to ensure a variety of meals.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
* Manage food stock and supplies, ensuring minimal waste.
* Interact with residents to understand their dietary requirements and preferences, creating a home-like dining experience.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a care home or similar environment.
* Knowledge of dietary needs and food safety regulations.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
* Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.
