We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team on a permanent basis. Description
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and forecasting.
* Support the budgeting and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
* Collaborate with various departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
* Prepare and maintain detailed financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with public sector regulations.
* Assist in year-end financial processes, including audit preparation and statutory reporting.
* Maintain and update financial systems, ensuring data integrity and adherence to best practices.
Profile
* Proven experience in a similar role within the public sector is essential.
* A strong understanding of public sector finance regulations and reporting requirements.
* Part-qualified or actively studying towards a relevant accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, etc.).
* Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with non-finance colleagues.
* Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
