Overview
As the Head of Architecture, you will lead, mentor and guide the Architecture teams to collaborate and advise in order to design, develop and document innovative, effective, secure and high-quality, robust and highly scalable solutions across our technology environment.
Our Product Teams are optimised for speed with quality and agility at the heart of what we strive for. At Gallagher, we work hard to ensure we are on the leading edge with the processes & technologies we utilise to fully support our client’s.
This role would suit a Senior Solutions Architect who is looking to lead a team of Architects and who wants to remain hands on and has excellent knowledge of Architecture Principles gained working in a Microsoft Technology Stack environment
How you’ll make an impact
* Cultivate relationships with business stakeholders to initiate and deliver technology evaluations, prototypes, recommendations and solutions in-line with business needs to increase efficiency and drive revenue
* Provide leadership and oversight to provide Architecture Designs and ensure technical standards across the Gallagher Technology environment.
* Develop, maintain and clearly communicate plans, goals, strategies and architectural roadmaps
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of strategic business plans.
* Design and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.
* Gain organisational commitment for enterprise level architecture and infrastructure initiatives.
* Oversee, mentor and provide direction to the architecture team
* Support business and IT strategic planning.
* Support product development teams.
* Work with the Head of Applications and IT Directors across Gallagher to plan annual infrastructure and software strategy.
* Develop and maintain knowledge of technology through external partnerships and relationships.
* Develop, communicate and deploy product Architecture Governance processes
* Review new and existing program/project architecture for compliance with IT standards, policies, and architectural plans.
* Document exceptions to architectural standards.
* Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions.
About You
* Experience leading in architecture team whilst encouraging growth, diversity, inspiring and empowering.
* Proficient understanding of Microsoft technology products such as C#/.Net, SQL Azure, DevOps, Containerization, Test Automation & Infrastructure as Code.
* Previous experience working in the Insurance or Financial Services industries would be preferable however we would welcome applications from other industries which are also highly regulated.
* Proven track record of developing people, including strong performance management principles.
* Excellent team player who encourages feedback and can delegate and seek help when appropriate.
* Eligible to work in the UK is a requirement
