Location: We have a modern approach to where people work from. The office is the normal stated place of work and working from home we do see as a privilege, however all of staff currently work from home for the majority of the week - office is in Reading.
Pre-requisites: Experience working in a financial advisory practice, c2 years minimum, familiarity with pensions, ISAsetc.
Advantageous Experience: Experience using investment platforms such as transact, experience using intelligent office
About us: We are a small financial planning firm with plans to grow organically with the right people. This gives the opportunity for a good candidate to mould the role over time around themselves. In addition it leaves significant opportunity for movement within the firm should a candidate wish.
We rarely have opportunities for new staff, as very few staff ever leave. We put a premium on investing in our staff, both through training and qualifications, but also in terms of their wider ability to add value to our team. Loyalty, attitude and diligence are things we see as a ’two way street’ with our staff and we are keen to find candidates who are looking for somewhere to help build something for the long term.
Our firm deals with some of the most complex financial advisory areas, for clients predominantly with an average of £1m or so to invest. This means we spend more time than most practices ensuring we are pro-actively adding value to their situations and also that we have a higher ratio of advisors and administrators to clients. We look after them for the rest of their lives and so a focus on accuracy over speed is always welcome. In addition candidates will need to be keen to keep clients as informed as possible in order to continue to build their trust in us. Over time, because our advisor numbers per client are relatively high, good candidates will inevitably build relationships with our clients. Staff that are proactive in terms of problem solving will be helpful and we do not generally favour a micro-management style.
What does the role cover?
New business processing - pensions, isa, unit trusts/general investment accounts, onshore and offshore bonds, etc.
Preparing client review packs, including summary valuations and performance information collating, ad-hoc client queries, withdrawal processing, investment of new monies.
