Yard / Warehouse Operative

Our client is a building and timber merchant based in Welham Green, Hertfordshire. They sell building supplies online across London and the surrounding areas.
Due to growth, they are looking to add two Yard / Warehouse Operatives to their warehouse team based at their established independent builder’s merchant. They are currently looking for experienced forklift drivers to assist in the day-to-day operations of a busy yard / warehouse environment.
Job Specification:

* Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries using a forklift truck.
* Picking orders accurately and in a timely manner and moving stock around the site.
* Checking loaded goods against delivery notes.
* Assisting Trade Counter customers as required.
* Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
* Some manual handling is required.
* Adhering to Health and Safety regulations at all times.
This is a full time, permanent role. Their shift pattern is 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Alternate Saturdays from 7am to 1pm.
Person Specification:

* Our client is looking for candidates who have previous builders merchant experience.
* Be self-motivated and be able to work as part of a team.
* Have the ability to work quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail.
* Be able to follow Health and Safety regulations.
* Good communication and customer service skills.
