Haulage, Fleet, Logistics Account Executive / Development Executive
Location: Midlands but happy to consider home based
Salary: up to £50,000 plus good bonus and company benefits
We are recruiting for a leading insurance broker who have specialist industry interests including Haulage, Logistics, Fleet, Self Drive Hire and Motortrade.
The Haulage, Fleet, Logistics Account Executive will be responsible for the development of clients within the industries. The role may involve either building a book of clients and retaining these clients, or be focused on development whereby you pass the clients onto the existing business team once secured. The employer is open to any combination or the two and happy to be flexible depending on the candidates experience.
The role is Midlands-based but can also be home-based with occasional travel to the Midlands office, and is primarily a field-based position. The Account Executive will have leads provided to them from the outbound team but to be successful in the team you will be required to develop your own leads through methods such as cold calling, site visits, networking events, or seminars.
Responsibilities:
Understand client’s business operations, opportunities, risks, and approach to risk management and insurance within the haulage, fleet, and logistics industry
Obtain and communicate sufficient information to support the broking process in accordance with company procedures
Offer and present insurance solutions, policies, and risk management solutions to secure new business within the industry
Expand the existing client portfolio to include additional covers and generate new business leads for the sales team
Plan client meetings in advance and adhere to company procedures
Send client communications in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy
Manage own files according to local procedures
Provide advice and information within areas of competence, seeking advice when necessary.
Ensure daily completion of post and diary activity in accordance with local procedures.
Demonstrate professionalism in client interactions and communications.
Communicate regularly with colleagues and manager to address concerns and provide solutions.
Ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations.
Undertake training to stay up-to-date with technical, legal, and market developments.
Conduct business in a courteous and efficient manner at all times.
Manage and develop supervised staff members, overseeing the quality of their work and providing support and coaching.
Log all at-desk coaching for training and competency requirements.
Adhere to the Group’s procedures and policies regarding potential conflicts of interest and fair treatment of customers.
Undertake any other tasks or objectives as required by the Company.
Requirements:
Ideally you will have some relevant commercial product and industry sector experience e.g. within Haulage, Fleet or logistics insurance
You will need to be happy in your own company and performing a field based sales role which has variable hours and travel times, e.g. one day being home by 3pm and have that luxury, other day with traffic and further afeild appointment getting home later in the evening.
Be organised and be self sufficient in managing your own diary
Interest in sales and working in a fast paced environment
