Job Description:
Gleeson Recruitment Group are supporting a market-leading SME to recruit a Financial Controller into the team. The role requires a technically capable accountant who is commercially savvy to join their Rugby based team on a full time basis, salary up to £70,000.

Reporting to the Finance Director and working within a small finance team, the Financial Controller will manage three direct reports and ensure the finance function provides accurate reporting data, controlled compliant processes, and strong cross-functional relationships. The Financial Controller will have a technical accounting background but be keen to move into a space offering stakeholder engagement with both finance and operational colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage and lead a small team on a day-to-day basis, providing support and training as needed.
* Prepare management accounts to a high standard and meet strict internal reporting deadlines.
* Prepare statutory accounts and group consolidations.
* Assist in the preparation of weekly CFM.
* Ensure compliance with VAT and Corporation Tax requirements.
* Prepare and file group VAT return.
* Assist the Finance Director in financial planning and forecasting.
* Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
* Oversee credit control and cash collection.
* Manage and process both weekly and monthly payrolls, liaising with external providers.
* Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors.
* Perform other ad-hoc duties to assist the Finance Director.

Key Requirements

* ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
* Advanced Excel/IT skills.
* Organised and diligent.
* Reliable and punctual.
* Manufacturing exposure is preferred but not essential.
* Degree in accountancy, economics or business.
