This Events Officer role is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with a passion for creating, planning, and executing community events. The successful candidate will help organise, promote, and manage a variety of events from within the Arts & Culture team.

Description
Reporting to the Arts & Culture Manager as the Temporary Events Officer you will be involved in the following:
* delivering this programme by proactively managing a forward plan of events, extending the reach and diversity of the programme and using ongoing learning to develop it in new directions and build in the flexibility to react to new initiatives
* a high-profile role that will require you to work closely with elected members, community organisations and wider events management colleagues and partners.
* ensure the events programme is properly publicised and addition to proactively keeping key stakeholders up to date
* provide capacity building support to community groups and organisers to help advise on funding applications and improve their event management approaches.
* lead the planning and delivery of the events programme, working with stakeholders across the council and communities to deliver events which are consistent with our cultural participation aspirations and other council priorities.
* manage the events grant funding scheme, ensuring payments are processed efficiently and opportunities for funding are effectively promoted.
* employ robust lessons-learned processes to ensure the programme continuously improves and that events capacity and knowledge grows with its delivery.
* provide day to day management of the events programme and act as the main point of contact.
* ensure that events within the programme are delivered in compliance with all legal and operational requirements e.g. health and safety, security, licensing and ensuring that events are delivered on time and on budget.
* build effective working relationships with members, council officers and communities and other partners to ensure events are well managed.
* collaborate on the development of any communications and promotional activities, in conjunction with the council’s communications team
Profile
A successful Events Officer should have:
* proven track record of programme and project management in events within local government or associated sectors.
* demonstrate a creative mind, knowledge and experience of planning and resourcing events and community engagement activities, ensuring that events are delivered efficiently, on time and with ability to maximise interest
* bring knowledge and understanding of the voluntary sector.
* be highly organised, comfortable working under pressure and at pace while managing a varied workload to meet strict deadlines.
* you will also have the skills to efficiently develop processes and manage all admin associated with events, including budget tracking.
* With a strong team-working ethos, you will have excellent communications skills
* Offices based in NW London - Hybrid working - 1 day Office Based
* Where role demands prepared to set up and work on-site at events
