About the company:
The company is on the lookout for a meticulous and proactive Assistant Management Accountant who excels in cost control, accounts payable, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A). This role involves supporting the finance team with cost management, processing accounts payable and payments, and preparing management reports, including budgets and forecasts. The ideal candidate will enhance financial transparency, performance, and efficiency while actively contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives.
Roles & Responsibilities:
* Manage the processing of supplier invoices and payroll, ensuring all payments are made promptly and accurately.
* Reconcile supplier statements and address any inconsistencies, while maintaining precise and current records of all accounts payable transactions.
* Support the enhancement and automation of accounts payable and payroll processes.
* Implement best practices for managing accounts payable efficiently.
* Handle the processing of sales invoices and oversee collections, collaborating closely with the Sales team.
* Assist with month-end closing tasks, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations related to creditors and budgets.
* Post accounts payable invoices into the financial system to ensure accuracy and completeness of cost data in financial statements.
* Prepare cost-related schedules and reports for monthly management reviews.
* Assist with audits and evaluations of project financial performance.
* Support the creation of budgets and forecasts by collaborating with various department heads. Participate in monthly and quarterly departmental meetings to review and discuss actual versus budgeted costs.
* Prepare comprehensive cost and revenue reports, including detailed analysis and recommendations.
* Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and savings, and continuously monitor and ensure adherence to these improvements.
* Contribute to the development of reporting systems.
Expectations & Requirements:
* Part-qualified or actively pursuing professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA.
* At least 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable and Cost Control, with a solid understanding of best practices in these areas.
* Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) would be beneficial.
* Demonstrated track record of achieving substantial process improvements.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Experienced with financial ledger software, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
* Capable of working efficiently under pressure and adhering to tight deadlines.
* Strong analytical abilities with expertise in interpreting complex financial data.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to function both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Meticulous attention to detail and precision.
* Exceptional problem-solving skills with a critical thinking approach.
