Financial Controller
Up to £65,000
Wokingham with occasional travel
Full Time - Weekdays and the occasional weekend

The Financial Controller will have the skill set and confidence to implement high standards within the company’s financial department.
Reporting directly to the Company Directors, the successful candidate will be familiar with the day-to-day duties of running a finance department for a fast-paced and successful SME.
Main Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day financial accounting function with a small accounts team (Sage/Xero accounting system)
* The design and execution of key financial controls
* Maintain effective control systems to ensure all revenues and expenditures are correctly recorded and reconciled.
* Provide financial insight into business activities
* Oversee the daily accounting and prepare quarterly Management Accounts for each trading site
* Review & identify areas of improvement in financial processes, controls & reporting
* Manage cash flow and banking activities including reconciliation of weekly site takings
* Responsibility for UK VAT, PAYE settlements and other duties/taxes
* Payroll - liaise with Payroll Bureau and create monthly payroll cost analyses
* Month-end GPs and contribution analyses
* Spot-check internal audits
* Work closely with the Financial Assistant, Operations Manager and hands-on CEO
* Support ad hoc trading and financial activities as required
Requirements
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Experience with the implementation of processes and controls
* Demonstrable experience of Board level communication
* Highly adaptable problem-solver, able to navigate challenges and find creative solutions
* Proficient in Excel with the ability to perform complex analyses and generate reports
* Experience preferable with Xero and Sage accounting systems
