Our Client: We are partnering with a prominent company, looking to add a proactive Accounts Assistant to their finance team. This role is crucial for managing payment processes, bank reconciliations and credit control.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you’ll handle BACS payments, acting as the primary in-putter. You’ll process manual payments each month within the banking system, and update and maintain bank mandates. Additionally, you’ll oversee and manage the corporate credit card scheme.
For bank reconciliation, you’ll load and reconcile daily bank transactions, post payments and receipts to relevant ledgers, and manage direct debit/standing order receipts and collections.
Your credit control duties will include overseeing receipts and the cash allocation process, handling various payment methods like cash, cheques, credit cards, and electronic transfers. You’ll ensure timely and accurate posting of receipts to the General Ledger, raise invoices, reconcile receipts, and process refunds.
In terms of expense management, you’ll act as the go-to person for the Employee Expense system. You’ll manage the Expenses inbox to address and resolve queries, review expenses to ensure they comply with company policies, and post expenses journal entries to the general ledger.
Additionally, you’ll provide ad-hoc support to the Accounting Manager as needed and stay updated on relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in a similar role who has a strong understanding of banking and payment processes, proficiency in bank reconciliation and financial ledger management, and excellent credit control skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with expense management systems, strong organisational and time management skills, and excellent communication abilities are also essential. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
