Robert Half is recruiting for a second line support engineer for a global private equity firm based in central London for an initial 3-month contract with potential for a permanent role.
Role:
The Second Line Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance across various systems within our organisation. This includes:
* Provide second-level support for Citrix, Office 365, Bloomberg, and Reuters systems.
* Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues that have been escalated from first-line support.
* Ensure seamless operation and performance of all IT systems within the company.
* Assist in the deployment and management of software updates and patches.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in accordance with best practices
* Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT procedures and configurations.
* Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues.
* Monitor system performance and implement necessary improvements.
* Train and support end-users in utilizing IT systems effectively.
* Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Profile:
* Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
* Proven experience in second-line IT support, particularly within a financial services or private equity environment.
* Strong expertise in Citrix, Office 365, Bloomberg, and Reuters systems.
* Solid understanding of networking principles and IT infrastructure.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Citrix Certified Associate) are a plus.
