Legal Cashier

Overview A Legal Cashier plays a vital role in the financial management of a law firm, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of legal accounting practices, and the ability to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities * * Process client and office account transactions including receipts, payments, transfers, and bank reconciliations.
* Manage daily banking duties, including depositing cheques and handling electronic payments.
* Ensure that all financial transactions comply with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.

* * Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
* Post receipts, payments, and journals to the accounting system.
* Reconcile client and office bank accounts on a regular basis.

* * Handle client account transactions and ensure client funds are managed in accordance with SRA rules.
* Monitor and manage client balances, ensuring funds are available for transactions.

* * Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.

* * Communicate with clients, fee earners, and other staff regarding financial matters.
* Liaise with banks and financial institutions as required.
* Assist in resolving any queries or issues related to financial transactions.

* * Ensure accurate filing and storage of financial records and documents.

* * Assist with payroll processing and staff expenses.
* Provide support during financial audits and inspections.
* Perform other related duties as required to support the financial operations of the firm.

Qualifications and Skills * * Previous experience as a legal cashier or in a similar financial role within a law firm.
* Knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal accounting practices.

* * Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
* Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* High level of integrity and confidentiality.

* Woring Hours: Part-time: 9am - 1pm
