The role
This position is a collaborative role providing key oversight and support to the Underwriting function as part of the Underwriting Governance and Excellence team. The Underwriting Governance Analyst will oversee and manage processes within the Underwriting Governance and Excellence team.

Key accountabilities
* Maintain a robust approach to underwriting controls within appropriate timescales for the entire organisation.
* Update the Underwriting Policy, Underwriting Authorities, and other key control documents as necessary.
* Assist in implementing the Underwriting Governance Framework and ensure adherence across Underwriting teams.
* Ensure that all underwriting authorities are reviewed on an annual basis and that all new underwriters are processed appropriately.
* Manage and oversee Exception Reporting processes for the Underwriting Governance Team.
* Monitor, report, and enhance data quality for Underwriting Governance and Excellence, resolving any operational report issues.
* Identify and communicate report trends to the Head of Underwriting Governance and other senior stakeholders.
* Identify potential improvements to current processes and assisting with various large projects across the organization.
* Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and ensure appropriate measures are in place to ensure this compliance.
Skills & experience
* At least 3 years experience in a similar role
* Knowledge of insurance processes and underwriting practices in the Lloyd’s and/or Company markets
* Strong interpersonal skills in order to work effectively and professionally with diverse groups at all levels across the business
* Excellent Excel and Power BI skills, together with competency in other MS Office applications (Word, Outlook and Adobe Standard) required
* Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to manage difficult conversations
* A practical understanding of Underwriting systems.
* Ability to comprehend new concepts quickly and take initiative with own personal development.
* Ability to self-lead and work effectively both independently and with teams.
* Ability to deliver and manage accurate thoughtful detail-oriented work within tight deadlines.
* Demonstrable experience of working in fast paced environments with the ability to problem solve and react quickly to changing priorities.
