Job Description:
The primary purpose of the role is to:
* Providing leadership and direction to staff, setting out the group’s goals conveying how they support the fundamental purpose of the service and energise staff towards their achievements by managing a service of social work staff members and non-qualified staff and contribute to the strategic management of services within Children’s Services.
* To Support the Head of Service in the development, delivery and review of planning , performance, commissioning and governance of services for children and their families that fulfil their potential that are local and easily accessible
* Strategically plan and implement field social work and support services provided to children and families and the associated resources. To ensure that children in need, children in need of protection and children looked after by the Council receive a high quality assessment and service provision in keeping with professional standards of good practice, legislation, regulations and guidance.
* Develop relevant, effective and easily accessible services, working in collaborative partnership with schools, community health facilities and the voluntary sector to provide support services through a wide range of venues. In partnership with these and other stakeholders, to develop and provide preventative and targeted support services. To be responsible for children with a child protection plan and for decision making about their safety and welfare.
* Strategically plan and implement Face to Face working across the services working in collaborative partnership with multi-agency and other Social Work teams.
* Financial decision-making and accountability for service budget within agreed budgetary limits. Planning resource spending to best value for money fit in line with current council vision.
* Reviewing , evaluating and recommending he necessary action to amend service processes, practices and systems that lead to improved service delivery ___________________________________________________________________________________________________
