Our client who are looking for an experienced Upholsterers to join their team on a permanent basis in Hasting’s area. You will become part of an experienced team who design and manufacture high end furniture.
Main Duties
* Interpreting design orders and creating upholstery stencils.
* Selecting and sourcing upholstery materials.
* Dismantling furniture for upholstery preparation.
* Measuring and cutting leather or fabric with the aid of design stencils.
* Installing foam and batting to the furniture framework.
* Installing and repairing furniture webbing and springs.
* Stretching out and installing fabric or leather coverings.
* Stitching, gluing, and nailing fabric into place.
* Smoothing out imperfections.
* Conducting quality checks on completed orders.
* Ability to work at a fast pace while continuing to produce goods to a high standard.
* Punctuality and the ability to meet targets.
* Ability to work in a team.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ensure that the company’s Health and Safety Policies are rigorously applied and complied with.
* Compliance with the company’s policies and directives.
* Due to the nature of the position, you will be required to lift goods so will need to have the ability to do so.
* You will be on your feet for long periods of time
Qualification’s Skills and Experience
* Proven work experience as an upholsterer.
* Excellent design skills.
* Detail-oriented.
* Ability to draw and interpret design templates.
* Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.
* Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.
* Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for up to eight hours a day.
* Good attention to detail.
Working Hours
* Mondays to Fridays
