We have an exciting opportunity for a Capital Programme Planner to join our team on a 12 month FTC.
Our business plan, which we have just submitted to Ofwat, will deliver £9 billion of essential investment in the East of England. It was created in consultation with our customers, and it balances ambition and affordability. It will create over 7,000 jobs and meet the unique challenges facing our fast-growing and climate-stressed region, helping the East of England to thrive and prosper.
This role will be vital within the team to develop integrated investment plans which comply with ofwat reporting requirements and aligns with customer opinion.
What you’ll be doing:
- Collaborate with Asset Delivery and Portfolio Management to develop optimal investment plans.
- Manage portfolio optimisation and scenario development in Copperleaf.
- Propose and test investment scenarios to support governance decisions.
- Annually produce rolling 10-year totex investment plans.
- Ensure clear and compelling business cases for investments.
- Produce accurate Management Board Reports.
- Define AMP business constraints with Regulation and Finance teams.
- Develop investment options and scenarios considering future risk and whole life value.
- Use cost-benefit assessments for investment planning.
- Administer and enhance the Copperleaf system for improved functionality.
- Conduct assurance audits to align investments with governance decisions and optimise budgets.

What does it take to be successful?
- First degree or equivalent is desirable
- Industry expertise in investment planning
- Industry expertise in risk management frameworks
- Industry expertise in Investment Optimisation techniques
- Understanding of econometric principles and regulatory requirements.
- Strong relationship management and communication skills
- Detailed consciousness, skilled numeracy
- Able to solve complex problems
